ERROR Code: 0x8004005 - Resolution (from windows xp help and support) isn't working? - problem preventing windows license 0x8004005
I have tried to change my product key for Windows XP using this site:

and start now, let me back in my account. gives the message:
One problem is that Windows does not closely monitor the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80004005
then back to the Welcome screen.
I went to this site for help with method 2:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp ...
But when I hit the part that says:
"Type cd% systemroot% \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ System32 and press Enter.
get nothing.
Someone please help me, I am a student and can not afford any data that I lose on my laptop.
